Limited Edition Emerald Ring Takes the Spotlight

By Kevin P. McVay

Carelle Ltd., an American Gem Society member, recently announced a show-stopping custom piece—a gorgeous and expensive emerald ring. The vivid Zambian emerald at its center is 8.52 ct and is lightly included. The ring itself is set in platinum and features 1.82 ct of diamond pavé created from 200 stunning diamonds individually set by hand.8.15.14blog

As true with most colored gemstones, the larger its carat size, the rarer the gem. This correlation is due to the increasing difficulty of discovering natural gemstones that are larger and heavier. Carat weight, however, is only one out of four globally accepted standards used to describe gemstones. The other three characteristics are color, cut and clarity. Just like diamonds, each factor is judged separately based on the type of gem.

The brilliance of Carelle’s new piece is extraordinary. You can visit Carelle’s website to learn more about this ring. As always, please feel free to leave a comment below and let us know your thoughts about this unique, one-of-a-kind ring.
