Kick-Off Conclave at These Events

The official start of Conclave is April 27, but if you plan to arrive early, we have some pre-Conclave events you won’t want to miss.

Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practices (USPAP) Course / April 25-26, 2020

Come to Conclave early and take the Personal Property course of The Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). This course will be offered April 25-26, 2020, hosted by AGS appraiser David Rotenberg, ECGA, and taught by Mona Miller, ICGA.

The USPAP is the generally recognized ethical and performance standards for the appraisal profession in the United States. USPAP was adopted by Congress in 1989, and contains standards for all types of appraisal services. Compliance is required for state-licensed and state-certified appraisers involved in federally-related real estate transactions, and now, personal property as well. USPAP is updated every two years so that appraisers have the information they need to deliver unbiased and thoughtful opinions of value.

To learn more about the USPAP course, click here to visit the Education page on the Conclave website.

New Member Reception / Sunday, April 26, 4:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m.

If you are a new member of the American Gem Society (AGS), make plans to arrive at Conclave in time for a special reception just for you: the New Member Reception. It’s a great opportunity to meet fellow new members, members of the AGS Board of Directors, and the team at AGS.

After the reception, there are even more chances to get to know the AGS community at the Mentor Mixer and annual Guilds Party.

Please note that this event is open for members that joined the community from 2018-2020.

Mentor Mixer / Sunday, April 26, 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.

Once your bags are unpacked, head over to the Mentor Mixer, located inside the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel. This annual event is a great way to kick off Conclave.

At the Mentor Mixer, you’ll learn more about the AGS Mentor Program and will find out how you can participate as either a mentor or mentee. You’ll also have the chance to discuss opportunities in your business with other members.

There will be appetizers and libations. Don’t miss the Mentor Mixer!

AGS Guilds Party / Sunday, April 26, 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.
Former Saint Craft Kitchen and Taps
Hyatt Regency Denver
650 15th Street, Denver, CO 80202

After the Mentor Mixer, the fun continues! Join your fellow Guildies for the annual Conclave Guild Party at Former Saint Craft Kitchen and Taps, located within walking distance from Conclave Headquarters. Network with members of your Guild or other regional Guilds. This is a great chance to make new friends!

Enjoy light fare and drinks.
