Spotlight on Success: AGS Young Titleholder Scholarships Make an Impact

The American Gem Society’s Young Titleholders (YTs) are empowering the next generation of jewelry professionals through impactful scholarships. These awards open doors to education, connection, and career advancement—cornerstones of success in today’s evolving industry.

In 2024, Lisa Bradshaw of John J. Bradshaw received the YTs’ Conclave Scholarship, granting her the chance to attend Conclave in Austin, TX. Conclave is AGS’s premier education, networking, and professional development event.

Reflecting on her experience, Lisa shared:

“I am incredibly grateful to have received the AGS Young Titleholders Scholarship in 2024 so that I could attend Conclave. The experience and knowledge that I gained through that attendance, as well as the connections that I made, were immeasurable. I am looking forward to Converge in September!

I made the decision to join my husband in the wholesale gemstone industry after retiring from my 40-year career in the garment industry. I wanted to seize as many opportunities as possible to become educated in the industry. I am currently working on my GG and applied for other scholarships through AGS. It was recommended to me that I apply for the Young Titleholders Scholarship, which I hadn’t considered due to my age. I was encouraged to do so by AGS and was awarded the scholarship. It was refreshing to know that AGS didn’t look at ‘Young’ as a number, as I never have. Although I’m relatively new to the industry, I know my previous career skills will allow me to help to mentor others just starting their journey.”
