This month, the Young Titleholders are shining the spotlight on Troy Underwood, CGA, of Underwoods Fine Jewelers!
Troy is Vice President and the third generation of Underwoods Fine Jewelers in Fayetteville, AR. After graduating from the University of Alabama with a double major in Finance and Marketing, Troy worked for three years in heavy equipment sales in St. Louis, MO, giving him diverse retail experience.
He then attended GIA (Gemological Institute of America) in Carlsbad, CA, where he received his Graduate Gemologist® degree in 2019. Afterward, he joined Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry’s flagship store in Baton Rouge, where, in only two years, he worked his way up to a management position.
Moving back to Fayetteville in 2021, Troy embraced his leadership role at Underwoods, having a significant impact on the 68-year-old firm’s success. He continued his education and, in 2022, received the Certified Gemologist® Appraiser title from the American Gem Society (AGS).
He has made multiple solo buying trips to India and has developed new strategic sources and contacts throughout the jewelry industry. In 2024, Jewelers of America (JA) named Troy as one of the recipients of the 20 Under 40 in Jewelry Retail.
In addition, Troy currently serves as the Events Chair for the Young Titleholders Committee through AGS.
