Fall Trends 2025

By Pinchas Gniwisch, President at Delmar Jewelers

When it comes to fall jewelry trends, what happens on the runway only goes so far. By examining designer forecasts, we can identify which styles are truly resonating.

Pearls – Classic or Edgy

Pearls continue their reign this fall, and it’s no surprise why. This timeless trend has captivated both women and men—thank you, Harry Styles—and shows no signs of slowing as we enter the cooler months.

On the runway, Marie Claire reported that pearls are exaggerated in size, but real-world demand is rising for larger strands featuring 9- to 10-millimeter pearls over the classic 6-millimeter. At the same time, Net-a-Porter highlighted that the season’s preppy revival is drawing fresh attention to timeless staples like pearl studs and strands, securing their place as fall must-haves.

Besides the classic pearl strand, there’s also strong momentum in innovative designs featuring delicate micropearls or styles that blend pearls with contemporary metal shapes and colorful gemstones.

Whether you prefer classic refinement or modern edge, pearls offer versatility that works beautifully this fall.

Nostalgic Necklace Layers

Layered necklaces remain a favorite—and for good reason. This versatile trend continues to define fall styling, with Cosmopolitan noting that runways are emphasizing elongated chains as key statement pieces. But successful layering extends beyond length alone. The magic lies in mixing varied lengths, textures, and silhouettes. Chain necklaces featuring contrasting link styles create dynamic stacks that command attention.

According to Marie Claire, nostalgic elements such as lockets, initial pendants, and meaningful symbols are gaining traction on the runway. This personal, sentimental approach to layering is what will sustain the trend throughout fall 2025 and beyond.

The ’80s Are Back – Plain or With Gemstones

The 1980s are making a powerful comeback on runways, with Elle reporting that chunky chains in silver and gold are appearing alongside oversized earrings adorned with gemstones or pearls. While delicate figaro and rope chains currently dominate our bestseller lists, we’re tracking a notable shift as statement pieces steadily rise in popularity.

Chain-link earrings, mixed metal, and plain metal are particularly gaining traction—transforming what was once considered a styling misstep into this season’s must-have look. We are also seeing big and colorful gemstone and pearl items carrying the spirit of the 80s. This bold aesthetic revival proves that maximalist jewelry is ready to reclaim its place in contemporary fashion.

Pop of Color

Fall fashion demands vibrant energy, and designers are delivering by reimagining classic silhouettes with unexpected gemstone combinations, according to Marie Claire.

Strong demand is emerging for rich, saturated tones such as deep emerald greens and intense sapphire blues, along with innovative color pairings that create distinctive pieces. This colorful movement spans birthstone jewelry, bold cocktail rings, and vibrant pendants that layer beautifully.

Quiet Luxury

While much of this year has leaned into bigger, bolder statements, quiet luxury takes the opposite approach. This trend celebrates understated pieces that don’t need layers or embellishment to stand out—they speak for themselves. Think timeless diamonds worn as sporty tennis bracelets, sleek hoops, or classic studs.

At its core, quiet luxury is about elegance that fits seamlessly into everyday life. Today’s trendsetters are gravitating toward convenience, curating collections they can wear effortlessly with anything. Traditionally, diamonds have been reserved for grand, occasion-worthy pieces. But with this shift, we’re seeing them embraced in everyday jewelry—making diamond essentials more popular than ever.

Elongated Cuts and Vintage Diamonds

Another trend set to dominate this fall is Taylor Swift’s recent engagement, paired with the buzz around her upcoming album The Life of a Showgirl.

Swift revealed her old mine elongated-cushion-cut engagement ring, a look that is likely to spark strong demand, influencing countless jewelry choices this season. Besides the elongated cushion cut, we are expecting a surge in similar-looking shapes like emerald cuts and ovals.

Jewelry influencer Julia Hackman Chafé has also been showcasing Roaring Twenties–inspired looks dripping in diamonds on Instagram. Her vintage-inspired aesthetic is fueling a surge of interest in diamond styles that echo that glamorous era.
