The ICGA member does not buy or sell diamonds, jewelry or gemstones. They also have completed an advanced course on various purposes of appraisals including estate taxes, divorce, or collateral. Both the CGA and the ICGA must maintain an Accredited Gem Laboratory® - which consists of a gemological reference library and gemological testing equipment necessary to provide accurate identifications.
