Supplier Spotlight: Henri Daussi

From Antwerp’s legendary diamond district to showcases across the United States, the story of Henri Daussi is one of artistry, innovation, and family legacy. The brand traces its roots to founder Henri Daussi Loots, who was born in Antwerp, Belgium, in 1932 and went on to become a master diamond cutter. “He came from a long family line of diamond cutters and worked in Antwerp’s legendary diamond center, mastering the art of cutting classic diamond shapes,” says Jeff Loots, President of Henri Daussi.

Wanting to achieve something special, Henri cut the first perfect heart-shaped diamond and went on to craft inventive shapes such as a horse head, the Chicago Bull’s logo, and butterflies, to name a few. His company, Andiamond, grew from a small operation into a De Beers Sightholder. Together with his sons, Jozef and Dirk, he developed the brand’s signature design—the Daussi Cushion™—a modern take on the classic cushion brilliant, re-imagined appearing larger and brighter.

What began as a humble family project has evolved into a globally recognized brand represented by some of the finest retailers in the country. Today, Jeff continues the legacy alongside his wife, Kasia, and their children, Jeremy and Chloe. “As the third generation, my wife Kasia and I continue the family legacy together with our children Jeremy and Chloe, keeping Henri’s passion for diamonds and invention alive in every jewel that bears the Daussi name,” Jeff shares.

For Jeff, the true reward lies not only in creating beautiful jewelry but in seeing Henri Daussi pieces proudly displayed by longtime retail partners. “Beyond my love for diamonds and creating jewelry, what makes this whole Daussi journey so special is being able to walk into incredible jewelry stores across the country, many family-owned by people I love and have worked with for years, and seeing Henri Daussi displayed proudly in their showcases, alongside the world’s most iconic jewelry and watch brands.” Jeff adds, “My job seems to be the perfect mix of creativity, connection, and a little bit of chaos.”

Outside of the diamond world, Jeff’s passions take on a more rhythmic—and flavorful—tone. “Music, especially drumming, has always been a huge part of my life,” reveals Jeff. “Most people wouldn’t guess that I played drums in heavy metal bands and still play today, mostly with my kids.” He’s also found joy in cooking, a talent passed down from his grandfather. “My grandfather Henri was an incredible chef. When he wasn’t cutting diamonds in the factory, he was creating masterpieces in the kitchen,” he recalls. “I make his recipes all the time—they are very complicated and take forever to make—typical Henri, he was known for making things complicated.”

Now, that family tradition continues in the business itself. “I’m thrilled to share that I’m currently working on a new collection together with my daughter, Chloe,” Jeff says. “As you can imagine, there’s nothing more meaningful for me than creating something beautiful side by side with the next generation, a true third and fourth generation Daussi collaboration.”

Jeff’s passion for his craft is matched by his appreciation for community and collaboration within the industry. “Mitchell Clark [American Gem Society (AGS) International Board of Directors Secretary] encouraged me to join AGS years ago, and I’m so glad I accepted that opportunity,” he says. “It’s truly an honor to be part of such an incredible organization that continues to set the standard for excellence in our industry. I’m inspired by the leadership of Alexis Padis [AGS International Board of Directors President] and all the past presidents, and I hope to become more involved in the future.”
