We launched “digital badging” credentials for AGS members—the first of its kind in the jewelry industry. Fifth-Generation Jeweler Receives Beatrice Shipley Scholarship

Awarded for study at GIA and AGS GIA (Gemological Institute of America) and AGS (American Gem Society) have awarded the Beatrice Shipley Scholarship—named in honor of  Mrs. Shipley for her many contributions to both organizations—to fifth-generation jeweler Madelaine Genna from central Florida. The scholarship provides tuition for Genna to complete the GIA Graduate Gemologist program on-campus, the AGS Way Course and to attend the 2020 AGS Conclave in Denver, CO. American Gem Society Launches Digital Badging for Members

The American Gem Society (AGS) has announced the launch of “digital badging” credentials for AGS members. The badges are the first of its kind in the jewelry industry. Henry Winkler Heads Keynote Lineup for AGS Conclave 2020

Henry Winkler, Emmy-winning actor, director, producer, and New York Times best-selling author, will be the opening keynote speaker for the American Gem Society’s (AGS) Annual Conclave, which will be held in Denver, Colorado, April 27-29, 2020 at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel. Joining Winkler will be two other powerful speakers have signed up to educate and motivate: innovation expert Josh Linkner will be the keynote on April 28, and pilot Amelia Rose Earhart will be the closing keynote on April 29. In Memoriam: Frank Hardy Bromberg, Jr., LRJ

On June 4, 2019, Frank Hardy Bromberg, Jr., Legacy Registered Jeweler (LRJ) of Birmingham, Alabama passed away in Cashiers, North Carolina at the age of 87. Frank served as Chairman of the Board of Bromberg and Co., Inc.—Alabama’s oldest business (est. 1836)—and was a member of the fifth generation of family management. Frank was born in Birmingham, Alabama on November 15, 1931 to Annie Maud Wilkinson Bromberg and Frank Hardy Bromberg, Sr. He and his wife, Lella Clayton Bromberg, met at Ramsey High School and were married for almost 65 years.
