AGS and GIA created the Beatrice Shipley Scholarship to honor Mrs. Shipley, wife of AGS and GIA founder, Robert M. Shipley. She was a significant contributor to the history and development of both organizations as a business partner and operations manager.
This opportunity provides one candidate with a full scholarship to AGS education courses to earn their AGS Certified Gemologist (CG) title and full tuition for the GIA Graduate Gemologist Program (GG). The recipient will be selected by AGS.
Additionally, the recipient will receive a complimentary registration to Converge, September 7–10, 2025, in Carlsbad, CA. Hotel accommodations and travel not included.
To complete the application, you will need to:
- Write a personal statement discussing the importance and timeline for achieving your Graduate Gemologist® diploma and American Gem Society coursework.
- Prepare a plan that shares your vision for creating a positive impact on the jewelry industry.
The application deadline is Monday, April 14, 2025. The recipient selected by AGS will be notified by Monday, April 21, 2025.
