ÉVOCATEUR’s handmade designs combine art and jewelry into sophisticated and stunning heirloom pieces. The company is located in Norwalk, CT, and is 100% women-owned and operated.
The name ÉVOCATEUR means “evocative” in French. More precisely, it means the person who is doing the evoking. Barbara Ross-Innamorati, ÉVOCATEUR’s Founder and President, found that whenever she wore their creations, it would evoke comments, connections, and stories.
Barbara based the company on her passion for 22k gold leaf. She was especially inspired by the artwork of Gustav Klimt, the Austrian symbolist painter, who used gold leaf in his paintings.
“I am entirely self-taught,” says Barbara. “There was no book that I could read nor class I could attend that would have helped me invent our fabrication processes. I had a clear vision in my mind for the look of the jewelry, but no blueprint for getting there. As a result, we have created a brand-new jewelry category: gilded jewelry. I wanted to offer a category between plated jewelry and fine karat jewelry.”
To this day, ÉVOCATEUR continues to blaze new trails as well as innovate to meet new challenges.
One of ÉVOCATEUR’s best sellers is their cuffs because they provide the biggest canvas with the most impact. They offer five different widths of cuffs, and three different wrist sizes, as well as earrings, bangles, and necklaces that enhance their collections.
ÉVOCATEUR just introduced semi-precious gemstones that enhance their cuffs, earrings, and necklaces. The colorful gems complement their bright-colored designs and rich gilding.
Barbara has some very exciting news from ÉVOCATEUR: “We recently partnered with The Getty Museum in Los Angeles to design and produce an exclusive jewelry collection featuring Van Gogh’s Irises! This collection features seven pieces including a cuff, bangle, earrings, and necklaces. We will be designing more pieces to be sold exclusively by The Getty Store.”
