ÉVOCATEUR’s handmade designs combine art and jewelry into sophisticated and stunning heirloom pieces. The company is located in Norwalk, CT, and is 100% women-owned and operated. The name ÉVOCATEUR means “evocative” in French. More precisely, it means the person who is doing the evoking. Barbara Ross-Innamorati, ÉVOCATEUR’s Founder and President, found that whenever she wore their creations, it would evoke comments, connections, and stories. Barbara based the company on her passion for 22k gold leaf. She was especially inspired by the artwork of Gustav Klimt, the Austrian symbolist painter, who used gold leaf in his paintings. “I am entirely self-taught,” says Barbara.
