Business Membership Application

Acknowledgment of Business Membership Requirements and Dues

Please acknowledge that you have read and understand the following requirements for Business Membership with the American Gem Society (AGS):

  1. A minimum of three (3) recommendations as required by the AGS Membership Policies currently in effect. Note: The AGS membership team will provide the specific requirements and support you in obtaining the recommendations.
  2. Business Type Requirements:
    • Retail: Be engaged in the retailing of jewelry, watches, and/or jewelry-related services.
      • The business will employ at least one Credentialed Employee (Registered Jeweler or higher). Note: New members or those undergoing staffing changes have up to two (2) years from date of membership approval or staffing change to meet this requirement.
      • If applicable, each additional storefront the business operates will have at least one employee with a Designation or Credential (Certified Sales Associate/Jewelry Evaluation Advisor® or higher).
    • Partner: Be engaged in the manufacture, distribution, design, or provision of services related to jewelry, including appraisals, gemstones, watches, or related products.
  3. All Business Types: A representative of the business will complete the AGS 101 education module.
  4. All Business Types: The business possesses a microscope or equivalent gemological equipment or technology suitable for proper gem identification, if applicable.

Retail and Partner:

  • Business Membership (includes one location/brand): $1,695
  • Additional locations/brands, if applicable: $475 (Note: All Business member locations/brands are required to be disclosed.)
