Gold Diamond Quality Report

Why It’s Great

Our scientifically vetted cut-grading system continues to receive great reviews for its accuracy and consistency. Many in the industry, however, still prefer to use proportion-based grading for specifically evaluating the Round Brilliant diamond cut.

Proportion is based on the following factors: Table Size, Crown Angle, Girdle Thickness, Pavilion Angle and Culet Size. (Learn more about these terms in our Glossary). Proportion has to do with the size and angular relationships between each of these points and contribute to the overall quality of the cut.

While our 3D technology allows us evaluate cut on new and even more detailed levels, we needed a way to accommodate our newer technology with this proportion-based preference. The AGS Laboratories Gold Diamond Quality® Report adapts the cut-grade technology from a three-dimensional system to a two-dimensional system.

We present this report in a plastic sleeve with a front pocket, which contains a card with the diamond’s basic information, which makes it easy for the jeweler to find the right diamond. It’s all a part of our commitment to ethical, safe jewelry buying for you, the consumer.
