Aquamarine heartThere are some fun and meaningful holidays happening in March and we have ideas of how you can incorporate them into your social media messaging.

The Month of March: National Women's History Month

Celebrate the achievements of the courageous women who have stepped forward to fight inequality and champion causes for the benefit of society. Throughout the month, post about historical women who have broken the barriers and made a difference for future generations. #WomensHistoryMonth.

March 5: Mardi Gras

Laissez les bons temps rouler! If your French is a little rusty, that's "Let the good times roll!" Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday, is all about the music, parades, food, and excitement! The traditional colors for Mardi Gras are purple, green, and gold. Include your followers in the celebration by posting designs featuring fleur-de-lis, amethyst, emeralds, and yellow gold. Sprinkle in some posts with popular New Orleans-inspired recipes, jazz or zydeco music. #PurpleGreenGold

March 8: International Women's Day

This day celebrates all the remarkable women in our lives. What would we ever do without them? As an extension of National Women's History Month, it celebrates key events, milestones and achievements, and further promotes women's rights. This day isn't just about the monumental achievements of women, but the daily struggles. It's a day to say, "Thank you—I don't know how you do it!" #WomensDay

March 10: Daylight Savings

This is a day we've all been looking forward to! Although, we gain an hour of light and lose an hour of sleep. Now is a good "time" to remind your clients about watch repair, battery replacement or show off some wonderful timepieces you have in store. #SpringForward

March 13: National Jewel Day

This day needs very little introduction! It's a great day to flex your gemologist muscles and share some fabulous facts about your favorite gemstones. #JewelDay

March 17: St. Patrick's Day

On this day, we're all a wee bit Irish! Pay homage to the Emerald Isle with posts of emerald jewelry or designs featuring lucky charms, like four-leaf clovers or horseshoes. You can also download our St. Patrick's Day meme from the Content Portal. Éirinn go Brách! #LuckoftheIrish

March 20: Spring Equinox

Spring hath sprung! Post a friendly reminder to bring in jewelry for cleaning and inspection. Offer some tips on how to properly store jewelry, and if your clients are doing a little spring cleaning, remind them of chemicals that can harm their gemstones. #ProtecttheBling

March 29: National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day

This special day celebrates the small business owner. It's not as well know as Small Business Saturday, but if you're a small, family-owned business, you can help spread the word! Give your followers a little background on how your business began and thank them for their continued support. #MomPopBusinessOwnersDay
