AGS titleholders have stood out among other jewelers in the industry as credentialed professionals. These credentials set AGS jewelers apart by demonstrating their commitment to continuing education and superior business ethics. This is an important event during Conclave; a time when we come together to celebrate the embodiment of the American Gem Society’s mission: the Society’s titleholders!

At this don’t-miss event, we will also present awards for the Young Titleholder of the Year, our annual Guild of the Year Award, the Sallie Morton Award, and the John J. Kennedy Award.

Robert M. Shipley Award® Luncheon / 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Robert M. Shipley, founder of both the American Gem Society and the Gemological Institute of America, is the father of organized gemological research and education in the United States. His significant contributions paved the way for a more honorable, dignified and professional jewelry industry.

The first Robert M. Shipley award was given in 1968 in honor of our founder. In the years following, it’s grown to become the most revered recognition in not just the American Gem Society, but one of the most honored recognitions in our industry.

Today, anyone who has ever been to Conclave knows that in the days leading up to the Shipley Award Luncheon, the buzz at Conclave is always on this singular question: Who is this year’s winner?

Be a part of this historic and important event, as the American Gem Society unveils the recipient of the 2019 Robert M. Shipley Award.
