AGS and GIA created the Beatrice Shipley Scholarship to honor Mrs. Shipley, wife of AGS and GIA founder, Robert M. Shipley. She was a significant contributor to the history and development of both organizations as a business partner and operations manager.
The American Gem Society and GIA Beatrice Shipley Scholarship provides one candidate with a full scholarship to AGS education courses to earn their AGS Certified Gemologist (CG) title and full tuition for the GIA Graduate Gemologist Program (GG). The recipient will be selected by AGS. This is a unique opportunity available for AGS members.
