Part of the AGS Young Titleholders mission is to encourage growth, development and connectivity of driven professionals in our industry. We are proud to offer educational scholarships to qualifying professionals who we believe will shape the future of the American Gem Society.

AGS Way Scholarships: Offered throughout the year and awarded each year before October 31st

If your firm is a member of the AGS, you are eligible to apply for the AGS Way course scholarship. The AGS Way Course provides the foundation to the AGS principles of proven ethics, knowledge and consumer protection. The 6 chapter program can easily be completed in three months. A title of Registered Jeweler (retailer) or Registered Supplier (wholesaler) is awarded after successful completion of this course.

Those holding a Graduate Gemologist degree from GIA prior to completing the AGS Way course will be upgraded to Certified Gemologist (CG) after maintaining their initial AGS title actively for one year.

AGS Conclave Scholarships: Offered at the start of Conclave registration each year and awarded at the close of that year’s application deadline.

Once a year, usually in April, the largest educational conference for American Gem Society members convenes at AGS Conclave. The conference meets in a different city each year, usually alternating from one region of the U.S. to another. This is one of the best ways to keep up-to-date with industry news on gemology, sales, appraising, and marketing. This event is also one of the best ways to connect with other like-minded professionals and further your career.

2018 Details:

  • Five scholarships will be awarded at $795 each
  • Deadline for application is 2/20/18*

* The applicant will be locked into the AGS rate on the date they submit the application if for any reason they are not awarded a scholarship
