The Maryland National Capital Guild Presents

Creating a Transparent Chain of Custody
Sheahan Stephen, Sheahan Stephen Sapphires Inc.

Sheahan StephenSheahan Stephen is one of the top global experts on sapphires and sapphire pricing. His extensive practical experience from mine to retailer, interest in global economics, as well as his knowledge of sapphires in other regions has given Sheahan an increased knowledge and unique understanding on sapphire pricing throughout the trade. He stays at the forefront of the industry and helps educate others on pricing trends.

During this presentation, you will learn how to create greater transparency and control in your supply chain, empower your relationships with suppliers, and expand your ability to communicate with your customers through synthesizing gemstone identification methods and contemporary knowledge. This lesson will demonstrate what a successful transparent chain of custody looks like and detail the steps needed to proudly disclose where your gemstones come from.

A hands-on lab will show you how traditional gem identification methods at the mine, still commonly used in source countries today, can deepen your awareness of the sourcing process and empower you to have greater control over your chain of custody.
