Estate Exotics: Collectible Beads
Presented by Sindi Schloss

In partnership with Metro Phoenix GIA Alumni Chapter.

Not only are beads the first form of jewelry, having accompanied humans since we lived in caves, but valuable cultural heirlooms which have become highly collectible. As prices for older beads increase annually—witnessed by prices at auction—beads have skyrocketed into collectible status. As jewelers, artisans, and lovers of Earth's beautiful minerals, value determinations are often challenging.

Join Sindi Schloss for a fascinating overview of the history of human adornment. Her newly released and invaluable reference book, Beads: A Reference and Price Guide, will be available for purchase and signing.

Sindi is owner and operator of her own firm, International Gemological Services, providing jewelry appraisals, a gemstone testing laboratory, and a school of gemology. During her fifteen-year stint as past chair of exhibitions of The Bead Museum in Arizona, a museum of global adornment, she curated and installed many of the exhibitions.
