The AGS & JIC Partner for 2011 Conclave Fashion Show
Las Vegas - The American Gem Society (AGS) has announced Jewelry Information Center(JIC) - the consumer education arm of Jewelers of America and the leading fashion authority in the jewelry and watch industry-will produce the annual 2011 Conclave Fashion Show, held on April 27, 2011.
"The annual Fashion Show is Conclave's premier networking event with the best retailers in the country. Members attend because they not only enjoy the show, but the networking opportunities are tremendous," said Ruth Batson, executive director and CEO of The American Gem Society. "People mingle throughout the evening, watching the fashion show, viewing the jewelry in the supplier showcases, and networking. It's an evening where trends and business are discussed, as well as members just having fun."
Suppliers participating in the fashion show will not only have unprecedented access to the AGS retailers during the evening reception, but during the course of the entire education-packed four day Conclave. Additionally, there will be an added incentive for fashion show participants: JA will offer a special benefits package at a reduced rate for those who elect to join JA.

The AGS Announces New Speakers for 2011 Conclave
Sessions Focus on Building Bridges and Peer Support

Las Vegas - San Francisco is famous for being a city that built bridges to its Bay Area neighbors. It's only fitting, then, that the 2011 Conclave, held in San Francisco, has a theme that suggest building bridges through peer support. With the announcement of two additional two keynote speakers to its Conclave line-up of illustrious national-level talent, Conclave is shoring up its own bridge to success.
Jim Abbott will address the AGS membership on "ADAPT: Overcoming Adversity." In this inspirational presentation, AGS members will hear not only how they can mold themselves to the challenges that come their way, but will learn how to use five specific words (Using ADAPT as an acronym) as incredible strategies and apply them to any aspect of their lives.
Jim has worked with The Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) on initiatives encouraging businesses to hire people with disabilities. Jim, who was born without a right hand, has gone on to win numerous achievements in sports, including baseball's Sullivan Award (best amateur athlete in the United States), male athlete of the year for the 1988 Olympic Games, and many awards at Michigan including the Jesse Owens Athlete of the year.
World renowned explorer and National Geographic writer, Dan Buettner has traveled across the globe to discover Blue Zones: hotspots of human health and vitality. His keynote address incorporates National Geographic images that will take members into the world's four Blue Zones, and show them how to get more life from their years and more years from their life.

Buettner is an internationally recognized explorer who founded Blue Zones - a project that researches the world's best practices in health, happiness and longevity and shares that information to help people live longer, better.
