April is the month of diamonds, and naturally it happens to be our favorite month! But this April, American Gem Society (AGS) is also celebrating an important milestone: the 50th anniversary of the AGS Diamond Grading Standards.
In 1966, these Standards were created as part of the AGS mission of consumer protection by spelling out the various aspects of diamond quality and value. For the past 50 years, jewelers have applied these Standards in their businesses as a means to communicate and build a trusting relationship with their customers. The Standards provide jewelers with an additional tool to analyze a diamond's attributes, including written proof of why a diamond is graded a particular way.
The celebration continues throughout 2016 as we also celebrate the 20th anniversary of the AGS Laboratories, which is the only nonprofit lab created in support of the AGS mission of consumer protection. To set the mood, here are four beautiful diamonds rings!
