Responsible Jewellery Council Certification
AGS Laboratories was established to support the American Gem Society Mission and as a Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) Certified firm, having committed to and been independently audited against the RJC Code of Practices—an international standard on responsible business practices for diamonds, gold and platinum group metals—fully supports the RJC Practices with regard to human rights, labor rights, environmental impact, product disclosure, grading and appraisal and other topics related to the jewelry supply chain.

Based on the AGS Code of Ethics, the American Gem Society and AGS Laboratories are keenly aware of the corporate and social responsibilities under which we operate and the model we set for the AGS membership. Through the AGS Board of Directors and AGS Laboratories Advisory Committee, policies are reviewed to ensure effective strategies are in place to enhance membership and education programs as well as ensure the AGS Laboratories grading and testing capabilities are maintained to protect the consumer.
