Special Agent Daniel X. McCaffrey is one of the leading experts in U.S. law enforcement on criminals who attack the jewelry industry, and he has a national reputation as the law enforcement person to go to for advice on jewelry crime investigations.
By utilizing a nationwide information sharing network of law enforcement personnel, Special Agent McCaffrey works closely with the NYPD and various police departments throughout the U.S. He has been involved in innumerable investigations and arrests of major jewelry gangs and criminals.
For nearly 18 years, Daniel X. McCaffrey has been a Special Agent with the FBI, assigned to the New York area. Prior to joining the FBI, he was employed by Tiffany & Co. for nine years, leaving as Director of Retail Operations. He has a B.S. in Government and Politics from St. John’s University in Queens, N.Y.
In 2006, Special Agent McCaffrey was awarded the James B. White Award to Law Enforcement by the Jewelers’ Security Alliance, and in 2015, he received the John J. Kennedy law enforcement award from the American Gem Society.
