The American Gem Society ASET
The American Gem Society ASET provides a quick and easy — yet sophisticated — way to demonstrate a diamond’s interaction with light. The name ASET stands for Angular Spectrum Evaluation Tool, and the device was developed to be used with the performance-based American Gem Society Diamond Cut Grading System - the only scientifically-vetted grading system for the evaluation of a diamond’s light performance and cut.
The tool’s design and the procedures for using it are simple. However, the results reflect one of the most important discoveries to come from the research on the cut analysis of diamonds. The ASET does not supply all the detailed information that can be obtained from an optical measuring device combined with the American Gem Society Performance Grading Software. However, with a little practice, a dealer or buyer can use it to gain a general idea about a diamond’s performance quality. The ASET also is a great sales aid. In a retail presentation, it instantly can clarify some of the most critical technical points concerning cut quality.

The Presentation ASET:
The Presentation ASET has high-grade optics through which you and your customer can easily view the optical performance of loose or mounted diamonds. The ASET Camera:
The ASET Camera is the newest development within its performance-based diamond grading support tools. The ASET Camera not only allows jewelry professionals the ability to view and showcase a diamond’s light performance, but also provides the opportunity to capture the digital ASET image for printing or future use. Never before has the evaluation of the Light Performance of either loose or mounted diamonds been so fast, accurate, and efficient.
